MALAYSIA-UZBEKISTAN PARTNERSHIP SPEARHEADS FINANCIAL AGROPLATFORM TO PROMOTE HALAL INVESTMENT AND ENHANCE FOOD SECURITY.

Kuala Lumpur, 19 September 2024 – Former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was the recipient of the Special National Halal Development Excellence Award in conjunction with the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2024, where CAG’s founders met with Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to the pioneered by us cotton cultivation project in Lesotho conducted by Malaysian company with Tajikistan cotton cultivation technology in 2005.

It was a great privilege for CAG to receive the best business advice, 19 years ago from Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to promote Halal products and services to the International market as Malaysia as a leader in the global halal economy which has been emphasised by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim himself during the launch of the Global Halal Summit (GHaS).

As for year 2024, CAG has been successfully participated in MAHA 2024 on 11-22 September and MIHAS 2024 on 17-20 September 2024.

Recently, Malaysia and Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for regional collaboration based on financial innovation to enhance food security and promote ethical halal investment and financial technology (Fintech) opportunities in the region.

The primary objective of the collaboration is to introduce a Malaysian-designed digital financial agro-platform, Mylembu in Uzbekistan, leveraging Fintech innovations to offer Halal investment opportunities globally, which aims to enhance food security and drive sustainable agricultural development across the region.

The MoU was signed on August 26, 2024, between Tashkent State Agrarian University and CAG (M) Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian company, along with MyLembu c/o Eagleconnect and Uzlamb c/o “CAG-Consultant” LLC, as well as “PROW CIS” LLC and Etech Digital Technology Sdn Bhd.

This newly established partnership will spearhead the development of an innovative Financial Agro platform UZLAMB (uzlamb.com) designed to improve regional food security through advanced digital financial solutions.

This initiative also aims to replicate the successful case study in Malaysia, which has been operational since 2022, expanding its benefits to Uzbekistan and potentially to other Central Asian countries.

The MoU also emphasizes the ethical dimension of the project, focusing on Halal finance principles that align with both Malaysian and Uzbek values. This approach will provide investors with secure, compliant, and socially responsible investment options while supporting regional agricultural growth.

As the project progresses, the anticipated benefits include enhanced digital financial trading between Central Asia and Southeast Asia, starting with the partnership between Malaysia and Uzbekistan.

This initiative is expected to set a precedent for future collaborations, demonstrating the power of innovative financial solutions in driving regional development and strengthening international relations.

The partnership also represents a significant milestone in fostering bilateral cooperation, advancing Halal finance, and leveraging digital technologies to address critical food security issues. This successful initiative will likely pave the way for similar projects across the region, reinforcing the shared goals of sustainable development and economic growth.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by high-level officials and industry leaders from both countries, underscoring the commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing financial technology.

The signing ceremony was highlighted by speeches from prominent figures, including representatives from the Tashkent State Agrarian University, Aziz A. Abduvasikov, Vice-Rector International Relations, Transformation, and Strategic Development, and CAG (M) Sdn Bhd, Tabarruk Nabijon, who expressed their enthusiasm for the project’s potential impact witnessed by the Embassy of Malaysia to Uzbekistan, Ms. Aimi Huda Ismail, First Secretary/Head of Chancery of Malaysia to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
