City University Malaysia & Iftitah Global Enterprise on Advance IoT Smart Farming Innovation

CYBERJAYA: City University Malaysia has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025 with Iftitah Global Enterprise between Prof. Dr. Rosnizah Shaari, Vice Chancellor and Tan Lin Chung, CEO of CAG with Special Guest, Yang Berhormat Haji Dr. Zahrul Nizam Abdul Majid, to validate a cutting-edge IoT-powered smart farming system for comprehensive meat source traceability. This initiative tracks cattle from birth to slaughter, recording vital data such as health records, diet, and origin—enhancing food safety, transparency, and sustainability across the supply chain.

As part of this collaboration, City University Malaysia is actively conducting research, including community awareness surveys, real-time data validation, and performance testing of IoT sensors in real farm settings. These efforts aim to ensure the system’s reliability and support national food security goals.

In conjunction with this, the university is hosting the “Competition of Sensor and Programming Technology for Smart Farming” as part of EICCU 2025 (Engineering, Innovation, Competition, City & University). Focused on Smart Programming & Temperature Sensors, the event empowers students to innovate and apply IoT solutions in agriculture, bridging academic theory with real-world.

Congratulations to all participating students and lecturers for lighting up EICCU 2025 with innovation and passion!
