Sandton, South Africa, Monday, November 06, 2017 – CAG attended the Africa-ASEAN Business Forum from 06-08 November 2017, Sandton Convention Centre, South Africa.
The culminating moment of the Business Forum was the Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between three key parties such as Singapore Manufacturing Federation and Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Black Business Council, witnessed by The Hon. Bulelani Gratitude Magwanishe, Honourable Deputy Minister Department of Trade and Industry and H.E. Chua Thai Keong, High Commissioner of High Commission of the Republic of Singapore, Pretoria.
Africa-ASEAN Business Forum is a 3-day event connecting about 100 business companies, attracting more than 3000 trade visitors across 3,000 sqm gross exhibition area was held from 6th November to 8th November 2017, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Africa-ASEAN Business Forum as one of leading strategic platforms aims bridging between the African Union and Asian countries, creating new horizons for businesses partnership.
The Business Forum was organized by Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Singapore Manufacturing Federation and Conference and Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd.
CAG was part of quality interactions amongst foremost commercial enterprises and high level international community of two regions such as ASEAN countries and Africa, where diverse issues raised using the right occasion for strategic business opportunities.
One of most interesting presentations made by High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in South Africa, Ms. Faridah Mohd Saad sharing her insights on the country overview, revelations on bilateral trade opportunities and investment policies.
Mr. Joselito Chad Jacinto of Second Secretary and Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Philippines in South Africa and Mr. Pontas Tobing, Director of Indonesia Trade Promotion represented the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in South Africa also made special vision statements on the topic “Country Overview, Bilateral Trade Opportunities, Trade/Investment Policies & Opportunities”.
Optimistic views on enhancing the trade partnerships as decisive focus for economic growth of both regions, also expressed by Mr. Firdaus Mohammad, Deputy Trade Commissioner of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) of the High Commission of Malaysia in South Africa, and, H.E. Vu Van Dzung of Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, South Africa Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in South Africa.
Presentation by Royal Thai Embassy in South Africa, Mr. Paisit Boonparlit of Chargé d’Affaires of Royal Thai Embassy in South Africa confirms once more that boosting on bilateral and multilateral commercial cooperation among those 10 South East Asian countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) and Africa the fast growing consumer market will serve only for most winning economy of both regions.
Organizers of the Forum mentioned about 300 ASEAN enterprises currently acting in Africa, and hope to announce increased number next year as outcome of Africa-ASEAN Business Forum 2017.
The next Africa-ASEAN Business Forum 2018 decided to be held in Singapore.
