Kuala Lumpur, 4-5 February 2025 – The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is undertaking an official visit to Malaysia on 4 and 5 February 2025. This marks President Mirziyoyev’s first visit to Malaysia, signifying a pivotal moment in the growing bilateral relationship between the two nations.
The visit commenced with high-level bilateral talks between President Mirziyoyev and Malaysia’s Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation across key sectors, including renewable energy, the halal industry, digitalization, artificial intelligence, smart city development, and startup ecosystems. These collaborative efforts aim to yield mutual benefits and foster sustainable growth for both countries.
A highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tashkent State Agrarian University (TSAU) and Malaysia’s CAG (M) SDN.BHD, a leading international consulting company. The MoU, which builds on a previous agreement signed on 26 August 2024 at TSAU, Tashkent, focuses on enhancing cooperation in livestock, aquaculture, and food security. It also aims to promote ethical Halal investment and Fintech opportunities in the region.
The delegation from TSAU held productive discussions with representatives of CAG (M) SDN.BHD, reaffirming their commitment to advancing agricultural innovation and sustainable development. The collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to regional food security and economic resilience. The Embassy of Malaysia in Tashkent played a key role in facilitating these discussions, highlighting the importance of diplomatic efforts in fostering international cooperation.
