THE KINGDOM OF LESOTHO, 22 July 2017 – Cotton Program in the Kingdom Lesotho rocketed to the new level
Successful cotton cultivation trials in Lesotho few years ago using Tajikistan method of cotton growing with Tajikistan bio-assets and managed by Tajikistan scientists has been taken on whole new level.
The brotherly relationship between Tajikistan and Lesotho has elevated into more practical phase, where both side began actual implementation stage focused on technology transfer and training program.
Strong support to this initiative was given by Honorable Deputy Prime Minister of Lesotho, Mr. Moleleki who see the logical rational in growing country’s economy through new agro-programs that would provide needed jobs to Basotho people, including through cotton cultivation in Lesotho using tested and proven methods of Tajikistan cotton cultivation.
Honorable Mr. Moleleki, personally supervised appointment of two of country’s scientists to visit Tajikistan for their cotton cultivation training program. Both delegates arrived to Dushanbe and were given warm welcome by Dr. Jalil Safarovich Piriev, Director of the Tajik Agriculture Economy Institute TAAS, Tajikistan to working side-by-side with his researchers and learn for further large scale cotton cultivation program in Tajikistan, Mr. Sherali Davlatov, General Director of CAG Tajikistan and Mr. Farkhod Davlatov, General Manager of CAG Tajikistan
We believe that such agro development can help develop vast vacant lands of Lesotho and provide benefit country’s economy with another globally important commodity, such cotton.
In such progressive economic and political development in the region directly or indirectly correlated between both Lesotho and Tajikistan.
