March 07, 2018, Republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe – The Vice President of Xuzhou Coal Mining International Co., Ltd (“XMC”) Mr. Yao Lichun was welcomed by General Director of CAG Tajikistan, Mr. Sherali Davlatov at Sheraton Hotel Dushanbe, where parties discussed the results of finalized feasibility study conducted in Isfara region by XMC and the necessary steps to progress the coal production. Mr. Yao Lichun expressed commitment and interest of Xuzhou Coal Mining International Co., Ltd in modernization of coal mine in Isfara in cooperation with CAG.
The Shurab coal initiative aims at supply of power, especially during the winter period for the need of economy of Tajikistan and an increase rate of employment of the Republic of Tajikistan.
“Tajikistan gives a favorable condition for coal industry. The industrial potential of Shurab coal mine and its relaunch is of significant importance for economic and social aspects of Isfara district and Sughd province in general. Many qualified engineers and workers, and their families, will benefit from this project avoiding labor migration. Moreover, numerous enterprises and organizations working in relation to coal production will intensify their exertion processes and increase incomes”, – stressed during the discussion Mr. Sherali Davlatov.
It is worth to note that the planned modernization technology will be thoroughly carried out in view of its environmental friendliness, along productivity and quality standards. The planned project is important for Isfara district.
The production of coal as source of heating material and alternative energy and fuel was progressing in Tajikistan during last 10 years. Most intensive period of this direction noted during last 5 years, where the number of active coal industrial enterprises increased 70%. It is a good sign for Tajikistan, that there are new initiatives announcing their interest and readiness for further geological exploration works to increase industrial reserves of the country.
