Malaysian company HOS International Trading SDN BHD and German company Fichtner GmbH and Co.KG (https://www.fichtner.de/en/) have negotiated terms for feasibility study of the project for establishment of combined heat and power plant (CHPP) “Shurob” in Tajikistan.
According to the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, both parties already agreed upon the development of feasibility study for the above-mentioned project, however the matter of the Fichtner GmbH and Co.KG services’ price is to be resolved yet.
As reported by our source, the price asked by the German Company for its services was regarded as overstated by the Malaysian company, which plans to finance the project. Now the parties are negotiating to find the acceptable price.
It is to be recalled, that Concessional Agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and HOS International Trading SDN BHD company has passed all necessary procedures including ratification by the lower chamber of the country’s parliament.
The feasibility study expected to be developed in the period of a year, i.e. until the end of the first quarter of the next year, after which the Malaysian company will make a final decision on the effectiveness and sustainability of the project.
It should be reminded, that in the end of October 2013 the Government of Tajikistan and the Malaysian company HOS International Trading SDN BHD signed an agreement to implement the government decree “On the Draft of Concessional Agreement CHPP Shurob “.
According to the State Committee on Investments, the implementation of the CHPP “Shurob” project with a capacity of 300 MW in the Shurob village of Isfara district is carried out by means of direct investment and amounts to 400 million USD.
The final project costs will be estimated when the feasibility study of the project is conducted. There will be developed two feasibility studies – one for the reconstruction and deployment of OJSC “Angisht” and other for construction of CHPP “Shurob”.
Under the agreement, investing company will use the coalmine for 30 years. The electricity, produced by the CHPP will be supplied through Open Joint Stock Holding Company Barki Tojik.
