Central Asia Group Forges Strategic Alliance with MCMTC to Establish Malaysian Trade House in Central Asia

TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN – In a significant step towards strengthening economic ties between Malaysia and Central Asia, Central Asia Group (CAG) met with a high-level delegation from the Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies (MCMTC) on Friday, 7 November 2025. The meeting, hosted at the Embassy of Malaysia in Tashkent, culminated in a landmark agreement for CAG and MCMTC to collaborate on establishing a Malaysian Trade House in the Central Asian region.

The delegation was led by Mr. Martin Ang, President of MCMTC, and included Ms. Lee Pang, Vice President of International, and Ms. Christina Tee, who also serves as the President of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI). The meeting served as a dynamic forum to explore concrete business collaboration and investment opportunities across key sectors such as FMCG, lifestyle products, renewable energy, information technology, and logistics.

Representing CAG’s leadership and strategic direction were Dr. Ali Sher Mohamad, Senior Advisor and Mr. Tabarruk Nabijon, President of CAG. Their deep understanding of the Central Asian market landscape was instrumental in framing the immense potential for Malaysian brands.

The primary outcome of the meeting is a formal commitment for CAG and MCMTC to work hand-in-hand in creating the Malaysian Trade House. This pioneering platform is designed to be a central hub, facilitating the entry and expansion of Malaysian products and companies into the vibrant and fast-growing Central Asian markets.

“We are thrilled to formalize this partnership with MCMTC,” said Dr. Ali Sher. “The Malaysian Trade House initiative is more than a project; it’s a strategic corridor that will unlock mutual growth. It provides a structured, supported pathway for leading Malaysian mid-tier companies to access a new frontier of consumers, leveraging CAG’s unparalleled on-the-ground intelligence and network.”

Mr. Martin Ang, President of MCMTC, added, “The potential in Central Asia is undeniable. Our meeting with CAG was exceptionally productive, and their capability is clear. By joining forces, we can de-risk market entry for our members and create a powerful, unified presence for Malaysian quality and innovation in the region. This partnership is a game-changer.”

This initiative underscores CAG’s core mission of delivering tangible results by bridging international businesses with emerging opportunities in complex markets. The Malaysian Trade House will serve as a testament to CAG’s ability to architect and execute large-scale, impactful economic partnerships.
